200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
A 25-day, 200-hour Tantric Hatha Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training in Ubud, Bali — built around classical asana, weekly meditation initiations, and a three-day silent retreat embedded in the curriculum.
The programme balances practice, theory and teaching formation. You study hatha yoga alongside vinyasa, yin and restorative styles, with a strong emphasis on tantra and the subtle body. Meditation techniques are introduced week by week — from mindfulness and concentration to spiritual heart meditation — so you leave able to teach and sustain your own practice.
Groups are capped at 30, with a buddy system and a dedicated teacher-mentor assigned to each trainee for one-on-one support throughout the course. Accredited by Yoga Alliance, the training qualifies you to register as a 200-hour certified teacher upon completion.
The Training Experience
The training moves between three registers: the body on the mat, the mind in study, and the silence in between.
Mornings typically open with pranayama and classical hatha asana — held poses studied for their physical, energetic and spiritual effects. You will also move through vinyasa flows, restorative sequences and yin practices, each taught with attention to alignment and adjustment. Tantra runs through the whole programme: mantra, yantra, mudra, bandha and kriya techniques are taught and practised, not just discussed.
Meditation is not an add-on here. Each week you are initiated into a different technique — mindfulness, concentration, walking meditation, movement meditation, spiritual heart meditation — and practise it daily before moving on. By the end of the course you will have experienced several forms and know which ones resonate. The three-day silent retreat, held at the end of week two, is where all of this comes together. Modelled on a solitary cave retreat, it is a period of complete silence and minimal external contact. The schedule eases you gradually into longer sits, and the group's presence holds the space even as each person's journey is their own.
Theory sessions cover yoga philosophy — the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras, the paths of yoga — alongside anatomy, physiology and Ayurveda. The teaching is deliberately integrative: discourses draw on both scientific and esoteric perspectives, and anatomy is taught to be usable rather than overwhelming.
Teaching formation runs throughout. You practise adjusting and correcting students, delivering discourses, reading a room, and using voice and body language effectively. Practicum sessions include structured peer and teacher feedback. Towards the end of the training, professional development sessions cover setting up and marketing a yoga and meditation business.
Alongside the formal schedule, weekly sharing circles and a mentor system offer space to process the intensity of a 25-day immersion. Optional evenings might include an ice bath and steam session, bhajan singing, or men's and women's circles. The centre itself sits among rice fields and jungle — quiet by design, with no alcohol or smoking permitted — and the pace builds steadily rather than overwhelming from day one.
