30-Hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training in Uluwatu, Bali
Four days of restorative traction, partner work and acrobatics on a cushioned AirSwing — with daily teaching practice from the start.
30-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
A four-day, 30-hour aerial yoga teacher training at Ulu Yoga's ocean-view shala in Uluwatu, Bali. The course blends traditional hatha and vinyasa with aerial technique, covering restorative traction, partner work, acrobatics, anatomy and teaching methodology — all on Ulu Yoga's signature cushioned AirSwing.
Accredited by Yoga Alliance, the training qualifies you for a 30-hour certificate (50-hour available via the extended six-day track). Beginners are welcome if you arrive with a regular movement practice and basic aerial familiarity. Many students join to deepen their own practice; by the end, most are leading full classes.
Tuition-only and accommodation-inclusive packages are available, with stays at nearby ocean-view resorts.
The Training Experience
Each morning opens with a two-hour guided aerial practice — steady, structured, and designed to build strength without force. The pace is accessible to newcomers while still offering depth for experienced movers. Over four days, the swing becomes a tool you understand through repetition: how it supports traction, where it challenges balance, what it asks of your spine and shoulders.
The training moves through distinct modes. Restorative Aerial slows everything down — long-held yin-style stretches and gentle spinal traction that decompress the back and release stored tension. It's the quietest work of the course, and some of the most useful. Asana Lab breaks each pose apart: alignment, common mistakes, beginner and advanced variations, all sequenced intentionally and supported by a training manual and video series built over years of instruction.
Partner Aerial introduces a second body into the swing — shared traction, balance drills, and a practical lesson in communication and trust. Acrobatic Aerial picks up the tempo with dynamic transitions and inversions, scaled to wherever the group lands. When conditions allow, a Beach Aerial session takes portable rigs outdoors: you learn to set up tripods and guide simple demonstrations in an open setting, then return to the shala if the weather turns.
Anatomy runs through the training as applied knowledge rather than theory to memorise — the structure of the spine, fascia, functional biomechanics, and how traction and decompression actually relieve back pain. You learn how the body works so you can practice and teach safely.
Teaching practice starts on day one. One-to-one guidance first, then small groups, building to designing and leading a full class by the final afternoon. Confidence comes from doing — and most students surprise themselves.
The practice space is air-conditioned, cushioned, and closed to the public. You train on Ulu Yoga's AirSwing, a cushioned aerial hammock that folds or rolls to suit different poses and body types — noticeably more forgiving than a standard sling, especially during restorative holds and longer inversions.
As a bonus, one year of free access to Ulu Yoga's online course lets you prepare before arrival, review after, or make up any hours you might miss on-site.
