50-Hour Ashtanga Yoga Training in Uluwatu
Six days of Primary Series, asana labs, anatomy and philosophy in an ocean-view shala near Bingin Beach.
50-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
A six-day, 50-hour Ashtanga immersion in Uluwatu built around the Primary Series. Mornings begin with a two-hour led class including pranayama, meditation, and hands-on adjustments; afternoons move through asana labs, functional anatomy, and yogic philosophy. The training is rooted in traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa and emphasises breath, vinyasa count, alignment, and disciplined repetition.
Held in an ocean-view shala near Bingin Beach, the course is designed for beginner and intermediate practitioners ready to deepen their practice with structure. You leave with a clearer personal practice, a stronger grasp of biomechanics and sequencing, and — on successful completion — a 50-hour Yoga Alliance certificate from Ulu Yoga.
The Training Experience
Six days shaped by discipline and repetition. Each morning starts with a two-hour guided Ashtanga Primary Series class — breath-led, count-led, with hands-on adjustments and a feedback session built in. One of these classes moves to the beach, where the limestone cliffs and turquoise water set a different tone for the practice.
After breakfast, the work shifts to the asana lab. Here the Primary Series is broken down pose by pose: alignment, technique, variations for different bodies, and the energetic and biomechanical reasoning behind each form. You learn not only how to hold a pose, but why it functions the way it does — and how to adapt it safely.
Afternoons alternate between philosophy and anatomy. Philosophy sessions cover Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the eight limbs, chakras, gunas, and doshas — grounded study meant to carry into daily life. Anatomy workshops explore bones, muscles, fascia, joints, and the nervous system, with hands-on sessions in adjustments and biomechanics woven through.
Outside of class, an hour of daily self-study is expected: reading the training manual, reviewing notes, designing a sequence, or working through journal assignments. The pace is full but not frantic — there is time between sessions to swim, walk to the beach, or sit quietly with what you've learned.
The training is open to all levels, though it suits those who value depth over intensity and long-term development over quick results. You practise alongside a mixed group, supported by two senior teachers who balance technical precision with sensitivity to individual bodies and nervous systems.
