Five days at an eco-conscious boutique resort in Tanah Lot, Bali, set between rice fields, forest, and traditional villages. The program blends daily yoga and meditation with cultural immersion — Balinese dance, cooking, offering-making, and village walks — plus a private Melukat purification ceremony with a local shaman on your second morning.

Nothing on the schedule is compulsory. Join every session or take the afternoon off to soak in the open-air bathtub and let the garden do its work. A flexible retreat that balances structured practice with genuine downtime, suited to beginners and intermediate practitioners alike.

The Retreat Experience

Days begin in one of two semi-open-air shalas, where morning yoga rotates through Hatha, Vinyasa, and Qigong depending on the day. Classes are tailored to your level by an in-house teaching team, so whether you are stepping onto a mat for the first time or deepening a long-standing practice, the instruction meets you where you are.

The Melukat ceremony on Day 2 is the retreat's centre of gravity. A Balinese shaman guides you through a private water-purification ritual at the resort — a traditional cleansing of body and mind intended to dissolve negative influences and refresh the spirit. It is a lived cultural practice, not a performance.

Cultural activities fill the afternoons and vary daily: Balinese cooking classes, Hindu offering-making workshops, traditional dance, calligraphy, pastry-making, village walks on foot or by bicycle, and guided visits to nearby temples including Tanah Lot and Taman Ayun. The resort's staff come largely from the surrounding villages, and cultural activities often include invitations to visit traditional Balinese homes.

Between sessions, the resort's spa offers treatments included in your stay, with additional sessions bookable on-site. The open-air bathrooms — with river stone bathtubs and outdoor rain showers — become a daily ritual in themselves. Evenings settle with dinner at the on-site restaurant, where chefs prepare Indonesian, Balinese, and Italian-inspired dishes from fresh local ingredients.

The rhythm is unhurried by design. Practices are varied, the schedule is optional, and the space between activities is where the retreat does most of its work.
