200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

200 hours

A 23-day, 200-hour residential training in Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga, set among the rice terraces outside Ubud. The curriculum is beginner-friendly and covers asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology, with evenings that ease into Yoga Nidra and sound healing. Weekly excursions to temples and nature sites are woven into the schedule.

On completion, you receive a Yoga Alliance-recognised certificate from DivinePath Yoga School, applicable as credit toward a 300-hour training. Single-occupancy cottages, shared rooms, or a program-only option are available — all include satvik vegetarian meals when accommodation is taken.

The Training Experience

The day opens before the Balinese heat settles in. Pranayama and meditation come first, then a morning asana practice that moves between Hatha alignment work and Ashtanga's steady rhythm. After breakfast the group shifts into study: anatomy of the major joints and muscle groups, the Yoga Sutras, the eight limbs, and the practical mechanics of cueing, sequencing and offering safe modifications. Afternoons bring a Vinyasa flow and, on alternating days, workshops in mantra chanting, shatkarma or teaching practice.

Evenings are deliberately softer. Yoga Nidra and sound-healing sessions close the teaching day, giving the material time to land. The rest of the week is punctuated by excursions — temple visits, purification ceremonies, nature hikes with a guide — that anchor the philosophy back in Balinese culture rather than leaving it on the mat.

The campus itself is small: open-air shalas, a swimming pool, gardens, and a communal lounge where students tend to gather between sessions. Rooms are air-conditioned, meals are cooked fresh daily from seasonal produce, and the group size stays small enough that teachers know your name and your alignment quirks by the end of the first week.

This is a training, not a retreat. The schedule is full, the study is real, and the evenings are for rest rather than socialising. What you leave with is a functional foundation: a personal practice you understand anatomically, a teaching voice you have practised out loud, and a certificate that opens the next door.

Program

The daily structure runs six days a week, with one day off for rest and excursions.

Morning
Pranayama and meditation open the day, followed by a Hatha or Ashtanga asana class focused on alignment and foundational postures.

Midday
After breakfast, the group moves into theory: anatomy, yoga philosophy (Yoga Sutras, eight limbs), and teaching methodology — cueing, sequencing, modifications.

Afternoon
A Vinyasa flow class, followed by specialised workshops on rotation — mantra chanting, shatkarma, or supervised teaching practice.

Evening
Restorative sessions: Yoga Nidra or sound healing. Excursions, kirtan and film nights are scheduled into the week.

Check-in: 11:00 AM · Check-out: 11:00 AM

Benefits

  • A teaching toolkit you can use immediately — cueing, sequencing, modifications and class planning, practised live in front of the group.
  • Anatomical literacy for the major joints and muscle groups, built into daily study rather than crammed at the end.
  • A personal practice grounded in three styles (Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa) rather than a single lineage.
  • Working knowledge of the Yoga Sutras, pranayama, mantra chanting and the eight limbs of yoga.
  • Weekly cultural immersion — temple visits, purification ceremonies and guided nature outings woven into the schedule.
  • A Yoga Alliance-recognised 200-hour certificate, applicable as credit toward a 300-hour training.
  • A cohort small enough that teachers know your practice and your teaching voice by week two.

Location

The campus sits among rice terraces and tropical greenery outside Ubud, roughly 1–1.5 hours from Denpasar Airport. Airport pickup is included.

The area is close to Balinese temples and cultural sites, and several of the program's excursions — including traditional purification ceremonies — take place nearby.

About the venue

DivinePath Yoga School is a purpose-built campus with open-air shalas for practice, a swimming pool, tropical gardens, and a communal lounge. Accommodation is on-site. The scale is deliberately small: enough space to feel unhurried, not so large that the cohort fragments.

About the organizer

Sachin Ji

DivinePath Yoga School is a Bali-based school teaching traditional Indian yoga — Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, pranayama, meditation and philosophy — to international students. Cohort sizes are kept small, with personal attention as a stated priority. The school runs residential trainings and retreats year-round.

  • Weekly temple visits and a Balinese purification ceremony as part of the philosophy study.
  • Evenings that close with Yoga Nidra or sound healing, not more content.
  • A Yoga Alliance-recognised certificate that counts toward a 300-hour training when you're ready.
