A four-day residency for women in a private Ubud villa, built around nervous system regulation, deeper sleep, and unhurried living.

The Art of Rest moves through sound, somatics, fascia work, breathwork, and sleep rituals — practising rest as something layered and learnable, not just the absence of effort. Morning tea ceremonies, long lunches, a floating sound bath under the stars, and plenty of time with nothing scheduled at all.

Small, guided, and completely held. You arrive; everything else is taken care of.

The Residency Experience

The Art of Rest unfolds across four days, each one slower and more spacious than the last. You arrive, exhale, and the villa holds you — a slow welcome dinner, easy conversation, the particular quiet that settles when you realise you have nowhere to be and nothing to perform. The nervous system begins its work before the residency has even formally begun.

From there, the days move through different layers of rest. Morning tea ceremonies and gentle fascia movement wake the body without pushing it. Long lunches and unstructured afternoons by the pool. A floating sound bath under the stars, with Himalayan bowls, gong, and tuning forks played as you float on water in the open air — sound moving through the body in a way that is difficult to describe until you feel it. Body vibrational sound massage. Sleep rituals. A nature immersion outing among greenery and rice terraces. Creative sessions that ask nothing of the mind. Long pauses with nothing scheduled at all.

Chef-prepared meals are served throughout, designed to support the body in deep rest rather than distract from it. The pace is slow. Nothing is compulsory. No one is watching or waiting for you to have a breakthrough.

By the final morning, something has shifted — quietly, not dramatically. You leave with simple, practical tools drawn from everything you experienced: breathwork, sound, somatic movement. Techniques that work in real life, not just in a villa in Bali.

Founder of Mellow Habits, a wellness practice devoted to nervous system regulation through sound, breath, and somatic movement. Zara works with high-functioning women who get a massage and feel better for an hour, who sleep eight hours and still wake exhausted, who take a holiday and come home needing another one. Her approach addresses rest as something layered — physical, sensory, emotional, mental, and creative — using sound and vibration, breathwork, somatic movement, and sensory grounding to create conditions for rest that actually sticks.

About the organizer

Zara Nikolic

Mellow Habits is a wellness practice centred on rest, nervous system regulation, and sensory care. It creates unhurried experiences that help the body slow down without effort — through sound, gentle breathwork, somatic fascia practices, and carefully curated environments.

The work supports deep rest, improved sleep, and a sense of calm that goes beyond surface relaxation. Sessions and retreats are intentionally slow, sensory, and spacious, designed for people who carry a lot and rarely give themselves permission to stop.

Mellow Habits offers immersive sound baths (including floating and on-the-body experiences), nervous-system-led breath and somatic practices, small luxury retreats, and collaborations with hotels, venues, and corporate teams.
